One of DC’s most anticipated weekend’s is finally here… Are you ready? It’s the CBC’s Annual Legislative Conference and all major cities in the US are a buzz with young African American professionals ready to hit the streets of DC.
Below you will find a few ways and resources to help you enjoy your CBC experience.
The FAB Empire released An Insider’s Guide to the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation Annual Legislative Conference, also known as CBC week. This 20-page guide is complete with parties, sessions, concerts, and more!
Take the METRO
During my first summer in DC, I came across a member of the Congressional Black Caucus on the subway… so as we say, “don’t knock it until you try it”. The metro is convenient, fast, and efficient. It will take you to most places located on the CBC agenda and will save you $$$ that you can use for happy hour drinks! Learn more about WMATA here.

Be Smart… Do Your Homework and Map your Targets- CBC Directory
See the following link to all members of the Congressional Black Caucus and DO YOUR HOMEWORK! The CBC conference is only a few days, and you may not get that much face time with elected officials. Therefore your moves need to be deliberate and strategic. Find your local Congressman or Congresswoman if you don’t know them already and learn a little more about them. This will ease the conversation and get you one step closer to working next to Barack Obama.
