Lauren Evette Williams, MPA is an Atlanta writer, socialite, and PR professional with a knack for fashion and filibuster. With a background in communications, public relations, and politics, Williams gives new meaning to the phrase “skirting the issues.” She is addicted to fashion magazines, coffee, and CNN – a perfect combination for political mayhem.
Ms. Williams received a BA in Communications and Rhetoric from the University of Pittsburgh and her MPA from Clark Atlanta University. Ms. Williams has built a strong career of public relations, issues management, and policy implementation. At the age of 26, Williams was selected to be Campaign Manager for a major City Council race in Atlanta, GA.
Since then, Ms. Williams has been involved in several non-partisan events across the city to engage the Power generation in the political process. Ms. Williams recently completed a fellowship at the Congressional Research Service on defense policy and serves as Chief of Staff to Atlanta City Councilmember Joyce M Sheperd. Ms. Williams is a political and communications consultant in Atlanta, GA. She most recently accepted an award from Georgia STAND UP as a "Young Political Agitator", and was presented the award alongside longtime activist and humanitarian Evelyn Lowery.
Lastly, Ms. Williams was named the 21st national president of the National Black Graduate Student Association and holds memberships in Georgia STAND UP, the White House Project Leadership Council, the Clark Atlanta University Board of Trustees, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, Alpha Epsilon Lambda Graduate Honors Society, and Blacks in Government.
